My journey began 9 years ago when I transitioned from a 17-year career as a school teacher to becoming a massage therapist. Recognizing my burnout, I sought a change. To enhance my skill set, I intentionally worked in various environments—including a Spa, a Chiropractor’s office, and a Physical Therapy clinic. Each place taught me valuable lessons and helped me develop the skills and tools necessary to assist clients and patients in moving better and feeling better.
During this time, I also realized the critical importance of self-care for myself. After experiencing repeated injuries from massaging, I sought help through Physical Therapy. It became evident that I needed significant personal changes. I committed to hitting the gym, adjusting my diet, and prioritizing my own health. Remarkably, my clients noticed the positive changes I was making and began asking how I achieved them. These conversations led me to expand my skill set further—I became a certified personal trainer (CPT) and a corrective exercise specialist (CES).
As an LMT, CPT, and CES, I am better equipped to help the people I serve. My ultimate goal remains consistent: to help individuals move better and feel better. This motivation drives me as a therapist and inspires me to teach other massage therapists to do the same.
